3D Environment based on a concept by Raja Nandepu
This is my second project at Animum – Creativity Advanced School, completed during a 10-week production focused on environment creation.
For this project, I recreated this beautiful sci-fi environment in 3D, following the original concept by Raja Nandepu. My goal was to stay faithful to the design while also focusing on learning professional environment workflows.
Throughout this project, I learned and improved my skills in:
• Environment blocking and composition
• 3D modeling
• Texturing and material creation
• Lighting and scene presentation
• Environment production workflow
I used Maya for modeling, layout, and lighting, and Substance Painter for texturing, rendering the final result with Arnold.
This project was challenging but extremely rewarding. Over these 10 weeks, I gained a deeper understanding of environment creation and production workflows. While I know the result is not perfect and there is still room for improvement, I’m very happy with how it turned out and with everything I learned during the process.
Special thanks to my tutors at Animum for their guidance and support throughout the project.
